WHO WE ARE

Friends of Valor International School is a registered 501(c)(3) organization founded in 2024 to support the vision and growth of Valor International School in Yokohama, Japan.

Friends of Valor and Valor International School share a vision for:

"Raising up lionhearted people who lead with compassion to impact cultures and nations."

THE PEOPLE BEHIND
THE VISION

Friends of VIS is led by people who believe that education can play a lasting role in the flourishing of children, families, and communities in Japan.

Our leadership and board bring together experience in education, ministry, nonprofit leadership, finance, and cross-cultural service.

ABOUT THE CO-FOUNDERS

Masaki Jason & Aimee Fukao

Los Angeles natives Masaki Jason and Aimee Fukao moved  to Japan in 2021, following God's call to love and serve the Japanese people. Through their years of ministry and work in Japan, that calling grew into a vision for a Christ-centered international school where children could receive an excellent education while being shaped in faith, character, compassion, and a heart for others.

With hope for what God will continue to do in and through Japan, the Fukaos founded Valor International School in Yokohama, welcoming its first cohort of founding students in April 2026. They consider it a privilege to serve Japanese, bicultural, and international families and to help lay the foundation for a school they pray will serve and shape generations to come.
